BEFORE MEASURING:
- Rest for 5 minutes before first measurement
- Avoid eating, drinking caffeine, smoking, or exercise 30 minutes before
- Remove tight clothing from upper arm
WHEN TO MEASURE:
- Twice daily: Morning (after waking) and evening
- Always at the same time each day
- When calm and rested, not stressed or rushed
HOW TO ATTACH THE CUFF:
1. Sit upright in a chair with back supported
2. Place feet flat on floor, side by side
3. Rest arm on table at heart level
4. Wrap cuff around upper arm, 2-3cm above elbow
5. Position tube over artery (pointing toward palm)
6. Tighten cuff so 2 fingers fit underneath
7. Check: Index mark should be within "OK" range on cuff
8. Connect cuff tube to device
CORRECT POSTURE WHILE MEASURING:
- Sit upright with back against chair
- Keep arm relaxed on table, palm facing up
- Cuff must be level with your heart
- Feet flat on floor, uncrossed
- Stay completely still - do not move or talk
- Breathe normally
TAKING THE MEASUREMENT:
- Always use the same arm (consult doctor about which arm)
- Press START when resting indicator shows green
- Remain still for about 60 seconds until complete
- Wait 1 minute between consecutive measurements
- If result seems incorrect, wait 1 minute and repeat
Best Practice: Take 2 measurements, 1 minute apart, and calculate the average.
